Seaming Rolls

Seaming rolls employ a two-stage process to create a hermetic seal between the can body and the can end. Rolls interlock all five layers (two of the can body, three of the cover) by folding and firmly pressing them together. In the first operation, the seaming roll produces 90% of the seam by loosely forming the five layers. During the second phase, the seaming rolls complete the seam by pressing firmly on all five layers, forming an airtight, bacteria-free seal.
